Gio had a busy time at Cornbury, with 5 to ride. Duke of Champions jumped a double clear for 7th in the open intermediate, while Monbeg Rhodes was also 7th in the BE105 (5yo) class, finishing on his dressage score.
Talbot Teddy took 8th in the CCI2*S, out of over 50 starters – another with a dressage score completion. Then, despite two rails down, Cloud K bagged another 8th place for Gio.
His last ride, Mickleholme Diavita, had a brilliant run in the 6yo CCIS 2*YH section. A smart test was followed by cruising around the cross country, clear inside the time. Sadly showjumping penalties on the final day dropped him down the order but the team was delighted with him.
He heads back to his owner Sophie Butcher now, who will retake the ride having had her baby earlier this year. He’s been a pleasure to produce and will be a super smart horse for the future.
